Wale Edun is a respected Nigerian economist, investment banker, and public servant with extensive experience in international finance and economic management. He currently serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, where he plays a leading role in shaping fiscal policy and driving reforms to stabilize and grow the national economy. His appointment reflects decades of proven expertise in both the private and public sectors, as well as a deep commitment to national development.

Over the years, Edun has built a distinguished career spanning banking, investment management, and economic policy. He began his professional journey at Chase Merchant Bank before joining the World Bank, where he worked on economic and financial projects across Latin America and the Caribbean. Returning to Nigeria, he co-founded the Investment Banking & Trust Company (now part of Stanbic IBTC) and later established Denham Management, which evolved into Chapel Hill Denham, one of Nigeria’s foremost investment firms. He also served as Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State from 1999 to 2004, where he introduced key fiscal reforms that improved efficiency and transparency.

Beyond his professional achievements, Edun is a passionate advocate for social impact, youth development, and public health. He chairs several nonprofit organizations that promote health education, support underprivileged children, and empower young Nigerians through sports and mentorship.
