Obi Asika is the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), where he leads national programmes that harness Nigeria’s arts and culture to boost tourism, creative enterprise, and international cultural exchange. At NCAC, his focus includes expanding opportunities for local artisans, strengthening creative value chains, and promoting policies that translate cultural assets into jobs and sustainable businesses.
Before joining NCAC, Asika co-founded and managed Storm 360, one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous music labels, and later built firms such as Dragon Africa and OutSource Media in strategic communications and cultural consulting. With decades of experience in music, television, and entertainment, he has played a central role in advancing the creative economy as a major driver of job creation and youth employment in Nigeria and across Africa.
