Ms. Elsie Gyekyewaa Attafuah currently serves as the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria, having assumed the position on 2 February 2024. In this capacity, she leads UNDP’s Nigeria office and steers the programme and operations portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and coherence across the organization’s engagements in the country.
With a career that spans over 25 years, Ms. Attafuah is widely regarded as a seasoned development professional and high-level UN executive. Her strengths lie in evidence-based strategy formulation and policy development, institutional management and reforms, programme design and execution, forging high-level partnerships, and mobilizing financing instruments and investment platforms.
