Dr. Olasupo Olusi

Dr. Olasupo Olusi is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry (BOI), Nigeria’s premier development finance institution. A distinguished economist and development finance expert, he holds over two decades of experience in shaping economic policy, promoting fiscal sustainability, and driving private-sector growth at national and international levels. He has served in key roles at the World Bank and International Finance Corporation, and as Economic Adviser at Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance.

Dr. Olusi’s academic credentials include a B.Sc. in Economics from Hull University (UK), an M.Sc. in International Money, Finance & Investment, and a Ph.D. in Economics (both from the University of Durham, UK). In October 2023, he was appointed to lead BOI for an initial four-year term. Under his leadership, BOI is focusing on thematic priorities such as MSMEs, digital transformation, youth and skills development, gender inclusion, infrastructure, and climate sustainability. He is committed to ensuring that enterprises of all sizes across Nigeria have fair access to the financial support needed for growth, particularly emphasizing the empowerment of lower- and middle-income business operators.
