Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CFR, is a respected Nigerian banker, investor, and philanthropist with over three decades of experience in banking, finance, and nation-building. He is the Founder and Chairman of Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, dedicated to improving public sector effectiveness and governance in Africa. He also serves as Chairman of Coronation Group, a leading African financial services holding company with interests in banking, insurance, and asset management. Aig-Imoukhuede is widely regarded as one of the key figures who helped transform Nigeria’s financial landscape.
He began his career at Continental Merchant Bank before joining Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), where he rose through the ranks to become Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in 2002 at the age of 36. During his decade-long leadership, he led GTBank through a period of unprecedented growth, positioning it as one of Africa’s most respected financial institutions. His strategic foresight and leadership also extended to national economic development, serving as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Council and as a member of the Presidential Committee on Fuel Subsidy Reform.
